ChromeOS users have been frustrated by a persistent bug causing their Android phones to not be detected by the Phone Hub. This issue, which started plaguing users around after the release of ChromeOS 121, disrupts one of Google’s key efforts to create a seamless integration between Chromebooks and Android devices akin to what Apple has going on with MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, and other devices.

The issue with Phone Hub not working on ChromeOS has been a major inconvenience for Chromebook users, halting the streamlined experience that allows syncing of messages, notifications, and other key features. Thankfully, Google is aware of the issue and is actively working on a solution.

There are some reports of the Phone Hub issue being resolved in recent ChromeOS beta and development builds (124 and 125). However, since these builds are experimental, the average user will need to wait for the fix to arrive officially in the stable release channel.

Those who heavily rely on the Phone Hub function in ChromeOS may consider switching to the less stable beta or development channels to get it working again. However, proceed with caution as these versions may contain other bugs that can impact your overall Chromebook experience.
