If you were here yesterday, you already know we covered the leaked CAD renders of the Pixel 10. Well, the Pixel rumor mill isn’t slowing down! Hot on the heels of that reveal, we now have exclusive first looks at the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL — Google’s 2025 flagship duo that follow the same design philosophy as their predecessors.

Pixel 10 Pro: A familiar design with a big internal shift

The Pixel 10 Pro keeps things eerily familiar, mirroring the Pixel 9 Pro down to its dimensions. At 152.8 x 72 x 8.6mm, it’s a near carbon copy, only gaining an extra 0.1mm in thickness. It also retains the 6.3-inch display, glossy sides (for better or worse), and the triple-camera setup with a periscope telephoto lens. If you’re the type to swap cases between generations, you’re in luck — your Pixel 9 Pro case should fit just fine.

But under the hood, we’re looking at a major leap. The Tensor G5, set to power the Pixel 10 series, will be Google’s first TSMC-manufactured chipset. This shift marks a departure from Samsung’s foundry, which has long been criticized for overheating issues and sluggish performance. While Tensor chips have always prioritized AI performance over raw power, expectations are high that this new processor will offer both efficiency and speed improvements.

Pixel 10 Pro XL: Big phone energy lives on

For those who like their Pixels large, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is here to deliver. Sporting a 6.8-inch display, it sticks closely to the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s footprint, with slightly adjusted dimensions of 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5mm. The difference is so minor that it’s likely a rounding variation rather than a tangible change.

What’s reassuring is that Google is staying committed to offering both a smaller and a larger flagship option, ensuring that fans of big screens aren’t left out. Whether you’re all about compact devices or you crave an expansive display, Google has you covered.

An August launch with Android 16?

Last year, Google surprised everyone by shifting its Pixel launch timeline forward by two months, debuting the Pixel 9 series in August instead of October. The result? The phones launched with Android 14 instead of the then-upcoming Android 15. But this year, the Pixel 10 lineup is expected to launch in August with Android 16 right out of the box.

With Android 16 slated for an AOSP release in June, Google seems to be aligning its Pixel launch strategy with its software roadmap. And while we’re still waiting on leaks about the rumored Pixel 10 Pro Fold, all signs point to it joining the rest of the lineup in an August reveal.

The Pixel 10 series is shaping up to be an evolution rather than a revolution. With designs staying largely the same but internal hardware getting a significant upgrade, it looks like Google is refining its formula rather than reinventing it. Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on how well the Tensor G5 performs. If it delivers the efficiency and performance gains we’re hoping for, 2025 might just be the year Google’s flagship lineup finally competes on equal footing with the best in the business.

Stay tuned — we’ll be keeping a close eye on all Pixel 10 leaks as they emerge!
